William H. Fritz, 86, of Latrobe, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, in Loyalhanna Care Center.
He was born Aug. 24, 1925, in Blairsville, son of the late Charles and Mary (Lowman) Fritz.
William was a member of Latrobe Presbyterian Church and had been retired from Brownie's Roofing, Latrobe. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy, and was a lifetime member of the Kingston Vets.
Besides his parents, William was preceded in death by an infant brother, Charles Robert Fritz.
He is survived by his wife, Betty R. (Ramsey) Fritz; two daughters, Deborah F. Gregor and husband, David, of South Lake, Texas, and Susan F. Koski and husband, Keith, of Latrobe; five grandchildren, Aimee Grigalis and husband, Nicholas, Mark Gregor and wife, Megan, Emily McMahen and husband, Adam, Jesse Koski and wife, Lauren, David Koski, and Beth Swords; three great-grandchildren, Emma Lewallen, Liam and Mallory McMahen.
Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Military services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home, with the American Legion Post No. 515, and the VFW Post No. 3414. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Unity Chapel, Latrobe, with the Rev. Clark R. Kerr officiating. Everyone is asked to please go directly to Unity Chapel. Interment to follow in Unity Cemetery.
