Ada F. Sereno, 86, of Greensburg, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, in Greensburg Care Center with her loving family by her side.
She was born Dec. 14, 1925, in Rossiter, a daughter of the late Francis and Alice L. (Setree) Brennan.
Ada was a member of St. Vincent Basilica, Latrobe. She loved being with her family and grandchildren and cooking large Italian meals, especially her meatballs which were the best. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, singing and dancing and decorating her home with flowers.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Paul Sereno Sr.; one son, John M. Sereno Sr.; one granddaughter, Tami Kurtz; four brothers, Francis "Bud," Leroy "Butch," Ardell and Charles Brennan; and one sister, Alberta Castagnari.
Ada is survived by her son, Peter P. Sereno Jr. and his wife, Lynn, of Florida; a daughter, Jacqueline Kniess and her husband, Ronald, of Latrobe; a daughter-in-law, Tina Sereno, of Greensburg; seven grandchildren, Peter P. Sereno III, Michele Sereno, Michael Sereno, John M. Sereno Jr., Jesse Sereno, Ronald G. Kniess Jr. and Teresa McCready; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Vincent Basilica. Entombment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg.
